The world is a changing place and one that is certainly becoming smaller. Gone are the days when we were restricted to going to an office, factory or anywhere else for work. What is Freedom?

If you asked almost anyone in the modern world if they were free to do as they pleased, I guess that most of them would say that “yes, of course they were”.

When we talk about freedom though, what meaning are we giving to that word?

Essentially, anyone who limits their beliefs of what they can or cannot achieve is not really free, they are trapped by their own thoughts.

It is often said that money doesn’t buy happiness, it doesn’t buy freedom either – even with enough money in the bank to go anywhere that you want and do anything you want to do. You still need the motivation and belief to be able to do it…

Anyone who works for a 9 – 5 job, or indeed for an employer on any shift is not really ‘free’. They can’t do as they please, they have committed to be at a certain place for a certain number hours on certain days of the week. They have to ask permission for days off/holidays etc.

“But we all have bills to pay” I hear you all crying, which of course is true but some of the topics this blog is going to talk about is how to find ways to build an income without being tied to a job (if that’s what you want to do). Or build a passive income to supplement the income from your main job, or even just reduce your debts so that your outgoings are not so high.

I see freedom as being the ability to make choices, so by increasing your income streams and reducing your outgoings, your choices also increase. You can choose whether to continue working a 9 – 5 job and you can have more freedom to choose where you go and what you do.
